Aristea ecklonii ‘Blue Star’ is a stunning, clump-forming, vigorous perennial with broadly linear green leaves which give way to loose, spike-like panicles of saucer-shaped, pale blue/purple star-shaped flowers in the summer months. Pollinators are quite attracted to this gorgeous plant. It can grow to a maximum mature height of 50 cm and spread of 40 cm. Overall, ‘Blue star’ is suitable for growing in beds, borders, containers and rockery gardens.
Suggested Care: Aristea ecklonii ‘Blue Star’ should be planted in well-drained, loamy soils, positioned in full sun. For best growing conditions, grow in moderately fertile humus-rich soils. It is advised that in frost-prone areas, it should be grown under glass in bright filtered light. Furthermore, It does not like root disturbance so once you plant it you shouldn’t move it. Additionally, faded flower stems should be removed to help the foliage flourish once the flowering period is over.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
