Herbaceous Perennials
Herbaceous plants (in botanical use frequently simply herbs) are plants that have no persistent woody stem above ground. The term is mainly applied to perennials, but in botany it may also refer to annuals or biennials, and include both forbs and graminoids.
Annual herbaceous plants die completely at the end of the growing season or when they have flowered and fruited, and they then grow again from seed.
Herbaceous perennial and biennial plants may have stems that die at the end of the growing season, but parts of the plant survive under or close to the ground from season to season.
Garvinea Sweet Heart ®
A strain of hardy perennial Gerbera. Powdery looking coral pink flowers, on tall stems above the foliage will reward you with a stunning display of colour from early Summer right through to the first frosts. An excellent cut-flower. Evergreen and frost hardy to -6⁰c but may need to be overwintered indoors in colder areas. Garden plant for flowerbed in fertile well-drained soil in full sun. Gazania Magic
Dark green, slender and glossy foliage. Really striking bright yellow flowers, with stripes of red and brown in their inner petals surround a golden yellow eye. Creates an eye-catching display from early Summer right through to late Autumn. Garden plant for flowerbed in free-draining soil in full sun or partial shade. Good in beds, borders, and excellent in tubs, containers, or even window boxes. Height and spread (approx)- 30cm x 25cm.
