Bronze Fennel

Herbaceous perennial that grows upto 180 cm. Plant in herb garden or in border in fertile, moist but well drained soil in full sun. Fresh aniseed-flavoured seeds and leaves. Leaves are used with oily fish, seafood, and salad dressing. Seeds flavour breads, curries, apple pie and fish sauce. Sprouted seed are used as a salad herb. Purple foliage.  A tonic for the nervous system. Height 180 cm.

Kitchen herb for large containers or herb garden in full sun. Finely cut feathery leaves. Small yellow flowers. Chopped leaves are used in soups and salads. Roots can be used as a vegetable. Seeds are a popular spice in meat dishes and also used in cakes and breads. Height 60 cm.

Evergreen and mat-forming. Big double, white daisy-like flowers with yellow centre  from May-August. Sunny position, free draining soil. Height 15 cm.

Lawn Chamomile or Creeping Chamomile Nice fragrance when being walked on. Sunny position, free draining soil. Lawn creeping chamomile or creeping chamomile is a low-growing non-flowering form that makes an excellent ground cover. Fairly tolerant of being walked on and gives off a lovely aroma. It is sometimes used instead of grass for making a lawn and can reach a maximum height of 10cm.

Cynara scolymus

Literally an edible addition to the plant border. The flower buds are edible and aid digestion, if left they will produce showy purple flowers, which attract butterflies and bees. Height 200 cm. spread 100 cm.

Dill

A kitchen herb. Grow in well drained soil in a sunny position or in pots/containers. Fine blue green feathery foliage with yellow-green flowers in Summer. Seeds & leaves are used to flavour meat and fish dishes. Also used for medicinal purposes. Height 100 cm  spread 40 cm.

Horseradish

Young leaves are added to salads. Stimulates digestion and circulation. Height 100 cm. 

Hyssop

Finely chopped leaves can be added to salads, broths and stuffings. Tea for hoarseness and asthma.
