Acorus gramineus ‘Ogon’ is a compact semi-evergreen or evergreen grass-like herbaceous perennial. Its narrow showy bright yellow & green striped foliage grows in wide fans of large, low-growing clumps. The foliage has a sweet citrus sent when bruised. Perfect for use in containers, beds/borders, pond margins or as a ground cover plant. When planted on the edge of banks, its roots can help to prevent erosion. It can reach a maximum height of 25 cm and spread of 20 cm.
Suggested Care: Acorus gramineus ‘Ogon’ should be planted in either full sun or partial shade. this plant thrives in medium to wet soils as it a water loving plant, it can even be planted in baskets in shallow water! A very low maintenance plant which is generally disease and pest free. While it is low maintenance- you should ensure it is not exposed to very dry soil conditions.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. Do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
