Arabis caucasica ‘Arctic Joy’ is a mat-forming, evergreen perennial alpine. It forms loose rosettes of oval dark-grey/green leaves with creamy-white margins. From this, short upright stems grow, bearing dainty fragrant white flowers. Once mature, it can reach a maximum height of approximately 15 cm and spread or 35 cm. It is suitable for use in a rockery, patio, as groundcover or in a container. It is generally a low maintenance plant, truly a perfect addition to the garden for some early spring colour. Its typical flowering months are from April to May.
Suggested Care: Arabis caucasica ‘Arctic Joy’ should be planted in well-drained, clay soils, positioned in full sun. It must be protected by excessive winter wet. This plant can tolerate hot, dry conditions and poor, infertile soils. Removing faded flowering stems will encourage more growth. Cut back after flowering to maintain compactness
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in āup side downā position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
