Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi ‘Old Gold’ is a mat-forming, semi-evergreen, variegated, perennial alpine. It forms loose rosettes of tall, narrow, dark green leaves with bright yellow margins. From this, upright stems grow, bearing dainty white flowers. Once mature, it can reach a maximum height of approximately 15 cm and spread or 30 cm. It is suitable for use in a rockery, patio, as groundcover or in a container. It is generally a low maintenance plant, truly a perfect addition to the garden for some early spring colour. Its typical flowering months are from April to June.
Suggested Care: Arabis ferdinandi-coburgi ‘Old Gold’ should be planted in well-drained, clay soils, positioned in full sun or partial shade. It must be protected by excessive winter wet. This plant can tolerate hot, dry conditions and poor, infertile soils. Removing faded flowering stems will encourage more growth. Cut back after flowering to maintain compactness
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
