Aster ‘Lady in Blue’ is a gorgeous compact, perennial with dark green lance-shaped leaves. In late summer and early autumn this plant bears stunning semi-double lavender-blue flowers with golden yellow centre cones. These flowers appear in late summer and last until mid-autumn. They also are perfect for brightening up the garden. It can be used in patio, containers, beds or as a cut flower. This plant can reach a maximum mature height of 30 cm and spread of 45 cm. Bees and butterflies loves this plant!
Suggested Care: Aster ‘Lady in Blue’ should be planted in moist but well-drained, loamy soils, positioned in full sun or partial shade. For best growing conditions, grow in moderately fertile soils in an open position. Once the plant begins to die back, it should be cut down and covered in winter mulch. It is advised to divide the specimen every third year to maintain vigour.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
