Miscanthus are wonderful clump-forming, ornamental grasses which are very reliable. This new dwarf variety of Miscanthus which will add colour and dimension to any garden. Beginning with green shades, as this plant develops throughout the summer you will see it eventually turn to a stunning ruby red.

Miscanthus sinensis ‘Ruby Cute’ is a beautiful deciduous grass. Its arching, slender green leaves appear in late spring, turning to shades of ruby red from as early as June! This is one of the earliest red leaved Miscanthus. From August to September, a feathery display of sliver plumes rise well above the outstanding foliage, bringing texture and movement to garden borders. his beautiful deciduous grass is equally attractive in containers where it foliage will spill gracefully over the edges. This is a bit of a lower growing miscanthus reaching a maximum mature height of 130cm, while spreading approximately 80cm.
Suggested Care: Miscanthus sinensis ‘Ruby Cute’ is suitable for well-drained soil in a sunny position but it will tolerate partial shade. Mulch grasses with organic material in the autumn to protect roots and shoots from freezing. Once shoots begin to re-appear in spring, we suggest to cut them back to about 10cm, giving the plant a rejuvenating lease of life. Can be divided in early spring once maturity is established.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. Do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month. As this is a tall variety, you should leave space between other plants.
