Description

Rosemary is a robust, woody, evergreen shrub. Known for its aromatic, needle like leaves and culinary, medicinal, and ornamental value. Native to the Mediterranean region it thrives in hot, dry climates and well draining soil. This versatile herb typically grows to a height of 60–120 cm with a spread of 60–120 cm, though some varieties can reach even greater sizes in ideal conditions.

From late spring through summer, rosemary produces delicate, tubular blue to pale lavender flowers that are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators. Its evergreen foliage provides year round colour, structure, and fragrance to herb gardens, borders, and containers.

Best grown in full sun with good air circulation. Rosemary is drought tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. It is deer resistant. It is well suited to coastal gardens and even topiary or hedging.

Highly valued in the kitchen, rosemary’s flavourful leaves pair well with roasted meats, vegetables, and bread. It also offers traditional medicinal uses and aromatic benefits, making it a favourite in both modern and historic garden
