Rough Tree Ferns Evergreen. Dark green fronds. Height upto 300 cm. Fertile, moist well-drained soil in partial shade. Tolerate some frost.

A magnificent specimen plant for architectural impact in the garden. Trunk forming fern crowned with gigantic rich green palm-like fronds which unfurl from the centre. In winter protect the crown by wrapping it up with straw or dead fronds.  Tasmanian tree fern for growing in acidic soil in full or dappled shade. Hardy in mild areas. Also can be kept in containers in sheltered areas or cool conservatories in partial shade.
