Agapanthus ‘Blue Magic’ is a herbaceous perennial which forms clumps of lush mid-green broad, arching, strap-like leaves. Its sturdy stalks bear large rounded open umbels of trumpet-shaped stunning dark blue flowers from late summer to mid-autumn. This variety of Agapanthus is deciduous and half-hardy so winter mulch is required. This free flowering variety attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Good in beds, borders, cottage style/coastal gardens, or in pots and containers. It grows to an average height of 80 cm and spread of 60 cm.
Suggested Care: Agapanthus ‘Blue Magic’ should be planted in moist but well-drained soil, positioned in full sun however, it can withstand a partially shaded area but less blooms are likely to appear. Can be divided once established. The plant should be positioned in an area that is sheltered from strong winds. It is typically a low maintenance plant, free of pests and diseases.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. Do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
