Description
Camassia coerulea, commonly known as the dark blue camassia. It features striking blue flowers that typically bloom in spring. This plant thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is often found in meadows and open woods. It’s also appreciated for its ornamental value in gardens.
The plant typically reaches a height of about 60cm. It has long, narrow leaves that can grow up to 45cm long. The flowers are star-shaped and usually appear in clusters atop tall stalks, showcasing a deep blue colour that can sometimes appear almost purple.
