Miscanthus are wonderful clump-forming, ornamental grasses which are very reliable. 'Malepartus' is a beautiful ornamental grass with green leaves striped with a single white line, topped with red-brown, feathery plumes.
A popular variety of Miscanthus, this grass has been used in gardens since 1900. Miscanthus sinensis 'Variegatus' is sometimes referred to as one of the best varieties of miscanthus for its white foliar effects it projects on the landscape that surrounds it.
This tall plant with its stiff stems provides useful height at the back of a border. The bright lavender purple flat flower clusters appear from June till the first frosts. Height 150 cm. Spread 60 cm.
