Arctotis ‘Heidi’ is a soft, bushy, mound-forming, evergreen perennial. As it is quite tender, some may refer to it as a half-hardy annual. It has lobed, dark grey-green foliage and long-stemmed, golden apricot orange flower heads which appear in the early summer and last right through to early autumn. It can grow to a maximum height of 35 cm and spread of 40 cm. ‘Hannah’ is suitable for use in beds, borders, containers and cottage gardens. As it is tender it should be protected from frost in winter. Undoubtedly, a stunning plant for the garden.
Suggested Care: Arctotis ‘Heidi’ should be planted in well-drained, loamy soils, positioned in full sun. It must be protected from excessive winter wet. Removing faded flowering stems (deadheading) will encourage more growth. If planted in container, it is advised to place the container indoors during the winter period to protect the plant.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
