Arabis alpina caucasica ‘Snowcap’ is a mat-forming, evergreen perennial alpine. It forms a neat mound of olive-green leaves which bears masses of sweetly fragrant, small snow-white flowers that will last through the spring and early summer. Once mature, it can reach a maximum height of approximately 20 cm and spread or 40 cm. it is suitable for use in a rockery, patio, as groundcover or in a container. It is generally a low maintenance plant, truly a perfect addition to the garden for some early spring colour. Its typical flowering months are from February to May.
Suggested Care: Arabis alpina caucasica ‘Snowcap’ should be planted in well-drained, clay soils, positioned in full sun. It must be protected by excessive winter wet. This plant can tolerate hot, dry conditions and poor, infertile soils. Removing faded flowering stems will encourage more growth.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
