Description

Artemisia ‘Powis Castle’ is an award winning bushy sub-shrub, which is adored for its stunning aromatic fern-like, silvery-white foliage. It is the perfect addition to any garden as its foliage easily blends with any flower bulbs or perennials. In late summer through to early fall, this plant produces yellow flowers however, they are not spectacular as the the foliage is its prized possession. Therefore, it is advised to cut the flowers back to keep the foliage at its best. It can grow to approximately 60 cm in height and spread up to approximately 120 cm if not trimmed back. Its foliage is evergreen in warmer climates. This plant has been awarded The RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM)

Suggested Care: Artemisia ‘Powis Castle’ should be planted in moist but well-drained soils, positioned in full sun. For best growing conditions, grow in poor to moderately fertile soils. Excellent soil drainage is essential for this plant to thrive. In spring, just before the new growth starts, you should prune the plant back to about 30 cm high. Never prune the plant back to the ground as this will cut the new growth.

Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
