Description

Asplenium scolopendrium ‘Cristata’ is a small, hardy evergreen fern with strap shaped glossy green fronds that have crested, divided tips. It can grow to approximately 60 cm in height and can spread up to 45 cm. It is a great plant to use in banks/slopes, as a ground cover, or in beds and borders. Additionally, itĀ  is the perfect plant to place in the garden so that you can benefit from some year-round colour.

Suggested Care: Asplenium scolopendrium ‘Cristata’ should be planted in moist but well-drained, loamy soils, positioned in partial to full shade. It thrives in very shady positions, if planted in sunny positions the leaves will scorch. For best growing conditions, grow in moderately fertile soils. This plant can be divided in early spring. This plant is generally pest free but can be susceptible to damage caused by diseases such as rust in mild damp winters.

Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ā€˜up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
