Arenaria Montana is a stunning evergreen alpine that forms a loose mat of tiny rich green leaves, which are slightly aromatic. It also bears small daisy-like white flowers with yellow centres in late spring to early summer. It can reach a maximum height of 15 cm and spread of 30 cm. This plant is perfect for use in beds, borders, rockery and as ground cover. Its flowers appear in May and can last up until August. This plant has been awarded The RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM)
Suggested Care: Arenaria Montana should be planted in well-drained, sandy soils, positioned in full sun or a partially shaded area. This plant thrives in poor soil conditions, thus minimal care is required. Additionally, this plant is drought tolerant once established. However, if there are very dry periods in hot areas this plant will need adequate moisture to survive.
Planting Instructions: Break up the soil well before planting and dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Remove plant from the pot by tapping the rim of the pot in ‘up side down’ position. However, do not pull the plant from the pot. Firm soil after planting and water regularly for the first month.
